Scouts Helping Scouts - Uniform & Camping Gear

A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.
As Cub Scouts move from the Cub Scout Promise to the Scout Oath and Law, it is good to think about whether we may have things that we no longer can use that can benefit other Scouts.
As we start off on a new scouting year and all begin new ranks, we may find ourselves with extra scouting supplies such as uniform pieces, scout handbooks or even camping equipment that we no longer need.
The Sam Houston Area Council has organized a uniform bank where we can donate new or gently used uniforms and camping gear (e.g. tents, stoves, sleeping bags/pads, dutch ovens, boots, hiking backpacks, coolers) where it can be offered to assist Scouts and adult leaders that otherwise would not be able to purchase these supplies. If you would like to read more about the Uniform Exchange, please click here: http://www.samhoustonbsa.org/uniform-exchange.
This is a great way for Scouts to help Scouts. If you have anything that could be used either by members of our Pack or provided to the Sam Houston Area Council Uniform bank, please bring it to any pack meeting and we will try and put it to good use.
If you would like to check availability of items from the Uniform Bank, please don’t hesitate in contacting one of the Pack leaders.
