Recognition at Pack Meeting

posted Jan 27, 2014, 7:20 PM by webmaster pack886   [ updated Aug 22, 2014, 9:12 PM by Webmaster 886 ]

We are planning on recognizing the Scouts with their Progress towards rank beads at the February Pack Meeting and awarding Wolf rank and arrow heads to those that have completed all their Wolf ranks.  Make sure to update the spreadsheet for their achievement.  We will then make sure the Electives are update before the March Pack Meeting.

Please update the achievement spreadsheets and get back to Alex so we can properly recognize your Scouts achievements.

No Den Meetings?

The beginning of 2014 is a busy year with Pack events almost every weekend through the Blue and Gold Ceremony on February 22.  On top of that, we build Pinewood Derby cars, watch college football, football playoffs and the Superbowl. We did have an Adopt-A-Path event on the one open weekend, and thanks to all that were able to help!

Most of our scouts had Achievements to accomplish at home to finish up with their Wolf requirements, so we wanted to allow some time to work those as well.  I hope things are going well.

Please check out our new on-line Calendar which you can subscribe to, see Pack Links on the left.

First Wolf Mtg Oct 10

The next meeting for our Wolf Den will be 7pm Monday, October 10th at the Church.  This will be the first meeting for our new Wolf Cubs.  The meeting will be somewhat 'organizational' in nature because we count 17 registered 2nd graders who are signed up and ready to start scouting.

We've talked about having one Den Leader with several Assistant Den Leaders comprised of parents.  But that probably won't work because it is hard for 17 families to all agree on meeting on the same day.  It's more likely that we will end up with TWO Wolf Dens - meeting on different nights.  This would require finding another Den Leader, getting them trained at myscouting.org, and then finding them some parents who are willing to assist with the programming.

You have probably heard the phrase that, "this is a good problem to have"?  Well.  We have a good problem.  Hopefully, when we review this months theme, cooperation, we can get moving on a solution.

We will see you October 10th.  Until then, have fun with purpose!
