Powell Recruiting!

We wanted to thank Powell for allowing us the opportunity to talk with a lot of great people about Cub Scouts and Pack 886! We are hoping we have met several new Scouts and volunteers to grow our Pack! Looking forward to meeting them again at our first Pack Meeting of the new Scout Year on September 14th at Crossroads Baptist Church.

In the meantime, please check out our website and go to the "Documents" link to the left and look under Parent files for a lot of good information specifically for our Pack.

Any questions, check out the "Contact the Leaders" page to get our contact information.

Scoutbook.com

Pack 886 as many of you are aware several of our Den's started using Scoutbook.com last year, and the Boy Scouts of America just bought this and are making it an official BSA site. You can read about that here: Boy Scouts of America acquires scoutbook

We will expand our usage of the site and features so it is very important to have your account set up. Please see the following link for more information: Scoutbook

Scouts Helping Scouts - Uniform & Camping Gear

posted Sep 8, 2014, 8:33 PM by Webmaster 886   [ updated May 26, 2015, 10:59 AM by Alex Woravka ]

A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

As Cub Scouts move from the Cub Scout Promise to the Scout Oath and Law, it is good to think about whether we may have things that we no longer can use that can benefit other Scouts.

As we start off on a new scouting year and all begin new ranks, we may find ourselves with extra scouting supplies such as uniform pieces, scout handbooks or even camping equipment that we no longer need.

The Sam Houston Area Council has organized a uniform bank where we can donate new or gently used uniforms and camping gear (e.g. tents, stoves, sleeping bags/pads, dutch ovens, boots, hiking backpacks, coolers) where it can be offered to assist Scouts and adult leaders that otherwise would not be able to purchase these supplies. If you would like to read more about the Uniform Exchange, please click here: http://www.samhoustonbsa.org/uniform-exchange.

This is a great way for Scouts to help Scouts. If you have anything that could be used either by members of our Pack or provided to the Sam Houston Area Council Uniform bank, please bring it to any pack meeting and we will try and put it to good use.

If you would like to check availability of items from the Uniform Bank, please don’t hesitate in contacting one of the Pack leaders.
